It Finally Happened!

Congratulations to Isabelle & Michael who finally, after having to postpone and reschedule and delay for 2 years because of covid, were married at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, May 21st.  Isabelle and Michael had family and friends from all over the world attending and I really liked how Isabelle showcased her Bermuda roots with a signature drink that was so refreshing on this unseasonably hot day.  As guest made their way to the cocktail lawn area, displayed on a gold and glass bookshelf was pre-poured signature drinks for guests to help themselves to.  I really like this idea of having pre-poured drinks available as guests head to cocktail hour.  By doing this, it helps eliminate that rush to the bar which usually results with some sort of line.  This way, guests can grab a drink and those wanting something else can head to the bar.  I highly recommend doing this with your signature drink or glasses of wine.

I thought I would touch a little bit in this blog about how to go about your ceremony processional when you have a father and stepfather.  Who escorts the bride?  I’ve seen it done in multiple ways so I thought I would just share in this blog how Isabelle did it.

With both her father and stepfather being very important men in her life, Isabelle chose to have her stepfather walk her to the ceremony location and then to have her father walk her down the aisle.  This way, both fathers felt proud to be by Isabelle’s side as she entered the next passage of her life - marriage.  I would also like to add that it is refreshing when ALL parents can come together to celebrate their child’s marriage and participate in all those family photos as a family unit to be shared from one generation to another.

And one more thing to add about Isabelle.  Look at that jewel collar that she wore with her wedding dress for the ceremony.  That definitely took her look up a notch!  And I can’t forget about Michael.  Who can resist a man in uniform?  Thank you for your service.

Sand Blending Ceremony?

Jinah and Lucas were married here at Keswick Vineyards on May 14th, 2022. They had many memorable aspects to their wedding but my favorite had to have been the sand blending portion of their ceremony. Sand blending is when each couple brings sand from a place that is special to them and they mix the sand together during their ceremony to represent the two individuals coming together as one. Since their ceremony took place under our sail cloth tent, this made the entire evening very intimate for all of their guests.

Jinah and Lucas also decided to bury a bottle of bourbon to dig up on their wedding day. The tradition is to bury the bourbon exactly one month before your wedding date. They decided to bury the bourbon one day early and unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate for them. Weather aside, the two still had a perfect wedding day that they will remember forever.

This couple was such a pleasure to work with and we are so honored they had their wedding here!

The Beauty of the Outdoors Under the Tent!

Lauren and Eric were married at Keswick Vineyards on May 13th, 2022. Their simple and elegant wedding was one to remember.

Lauren and Eric had their florist (Weddings by Vogue) hang greenery up our wooden poles as well as wrap greenery around our tent bistro lighting. Our tent bistro lighting is a beautiful feature of our sail cloth tent on its own but adding this greenery took it up a notch! They were able to bring the beauty of the outdoor estate under the tent.

We are so happy for the two of them and wish them a lifetime of happiness!

The weathermen gets it wrong again!

Katie & Neal were married the same weekend as Kadie & Chuck, my previous blog, on May 7th.  As I previously blogged, this entire weekend had rain forecasted at 95% for both Friday and Saturday.  Never would I have thought that both Friday and Saturday’s weddings would be able to have their ceremonies outside!  But it’s true!!!

Katie & Neal had one giant good luck charm on their vendor team.  Jaclyn, from Exchange Events, has some pull with Mother Nature and has managed to not have it rain when she does a wedding at Keswick Vineyards.  We always joke about how it doesn’t rain when Jaclyn is here, and she worked her magic again but definitely had to work a little harder this dayJ

Katie & Neal were able to have their ceremony outside.  There was a steady mist happening but that didn’t matter to them.  Keswick Vineyards is always prepared for our couples, so umbrellas were on hand for guests to use if needed.  For the most part, only a few guests chose to keep their umbrellas up during the ceremony.  Because of the mist and wind, it was decided it was best to have cocktail hour under our heated tent.  Once again, Keswick Vineyards as their venue was prepared for whatever weather conditions Mother Nature had instore.

The positive thing to having a wedding on a cloudy day is that the lighting for photos is perfect!  Ask any photographer out there and they will tell you they would hands down take a cloudy, overcast day versus a bright, sunny day to take photos in.  This gives the photographer the opportunity to take photos anywhere because they don’t have to worry about the shadows that are a constant issue to battle on sunny days.  Just something to remember if you are upset that your wedding day isn’t sunny.

One of the little details that I just loved from this wedding is the individual script wooden names at each place setting.  What a lovely keepsake for each guest.
