A Fairytale Wedding
Almost every girl dreams of their fairytale wedding and I’m happy to say that Keswick Vineyards definitely delivered that and more for Maddie and Sam’s wedding on April 15th.
Maddie & Sam did all the prep work leading up to their big day including burying that bottle of bourbon! Maddie did what I tell every bride not to do; she started to check the weather report 10 days before her wedding day. Of course, they were calling for some rain. Maddie called, all upset, and wondering what to do? I told her there was nothing we could do, it’s Mother Nature. I assured her that we have a great rain plan if needed but for her to believe in the bourbon! Maddie for a moment loss her faith in the bourbon and it had to be restored to work properly. I’m happy to report, her faith was restored, and they had the most AMAZING day including a jaw dropping sunset!
What little girl doesn’t dream of marrying their Prince Charming like Cinderella in her horse drawn carriage? This is exactly what Maddie got! She magically appeared, riding through the middle of the vineyard, to find her Prince Charming Sam waiting for her at the altar. Hearing the hooves of the horses and the bells they wore as they pranced towards the ceremony location, goose bumps and tears for all! What a fairytale vision that no one will forget!
What else will no one ever forget from this wedding is the sunset. Maddie & Sam were blessed with one of those sunsets that people think you photoshop to look that saturated with colors. To witness it yourself takes your breath away.
I’m so happy we were able to make this fairytale dream real for Maddie and Sam. Of course, we couldn’t do it without the amazing wedding team they had:

True Love or Puppy Love?

Keswick Vineyards 2023 wedding season started this past Saturday with the marriage of Kacie & James on Saturday, April 8th. Typical of Virginia weather, we went from 87-degrees earlier in the week to a brisk 50-degree day for them. The good news, no rain!
The love Kacie and James have for one another might have been overshadowed by their “puppy” love of their two babies, Judy Garland & Bentley ☺ Those two dogs looked so adorable in their tuxedo and peach dress. Kacie surprised James with a pair of cufflinks that had one of their babies on each cufflink. How special is that??? No matter where you went during their wedding, Judy Garland and Bentley were present. From signature cocktails named after them, to a dog statue on their cake taking a small bite out of it! It was obvious to all just how special their dogs were to them. As a dog lover myself, I just adored these details!
Another detail that I’ve spoken to many of our brides about is how to do florals the right way without spending a fortune. Just look at how beautiful the bridesmaid’s bouquet are! Notice how they are just baby breath. Kacie’s maids of honor bouquets were a little different with some florals and then Kacie’s bouquet was a traditional bouquet. Kacie also extended this look for her centerpieces with simple greenery and baby breath accented with floating candles in cylinders. Simple, yet elegant!

Last Wedding of 2022
Saturday, November 12th, we closed out our 2022 wedding season with the marriage of Caroline & Zachary and what a wonderful way to end our season. Caroline & Zachary had their ceremony at the UVA chapel. Many of our couples are UVA graduates that want to get married in that chapel. The hard part with that chapel is you don’t know for sure what time slot you will get until later which can lead to some logistical problems with your venue. Not at Keswick Vineyards! Because our tasting room is totally separate from our wedding venue, you have the flexibility then to start your cocktail hour/reception at any time. You don’t have to wait for our tasting room to close to be private. That is huge when it comes to the logistics of an off-site ceremony. Something for future couples to take into consideration.
I was told by many family members, as well as in the father of the brides’ toast, that Caroline & Zachary knew immediately when they toured here that this was the place for them. They had spent the entire day looking at other venues but none of them gave them the elegant, sophisticated and timelessness feeling they were searching for. Now that their wedding day was here, I can truly see why they chose Keswick Vineyards.
Caroline & Zachary went with a classic, black and white wedding. What a spectacular backdrop the estate provided for those photos. Just look at how classic these two look in front of Edgewood Estate with that black vintage car! Perfection!!!! The dress Caroline wore exemplified pure sophistication and elegance. She reminded me of Grace Kelly. And I love how Zachary wore a white tie and cummerbund to differentiate himself from the groomsmen. And thank you Mother Nature for providing them with perfect weather and one of those remarkable glowing sunsets!
One of the little details I really liked from this wedding was their escort cards. Each had a wax seal indicating the food choice each guest had made. Just another little upscale look versus a stamp imprint of a fish or cow.
One thing for sure, Caroline and Zachary wanted to have fun at their wedding and boy did they do that! I just loved the wedding gift Caroline surprised Zachary with; light up tennis shoes! It sure was easy to spot him on the dance floorJ Guests also got to enjoy a late-night snack from Chick-fil-a of some nuggets and fries. Who doesn’t love Chick-fil-a?
Lastly, Caroline & Zachary had a grand sparkler send off as they made their way to the black vintage car ready to take them away. What a perfect way to end a fairytale wedding!

Congratulations to Melanie & Tommy who were married at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, November 5th. Melanie & Tommy chose to have their ceremony right up against the vineyard with the Southwest Mountains behind them popping with fall colors. I would have to say that last weekend was the peak of colors but there definitely was enough to provide a beautiful backdrop for photos. Being they were married on day light savings day; Melanie & Tommy did a first look so they could get most of their photos done during the day with plenty of light.
Melanie & Tommy are the proud parents of 2 dogs which they of course had to include in their wedding day. It’s a nice touch to include your furry friends in your special day but please make sure you have hired a dog handler to help. By having a professional handler on hand, everyone can relax knowing their pets are being well taken care of.
Versus having a traditional guest book, Melanie & Tommy had a circular wood board with their last name on it for everyone to sign. I can imagine how beautiful that will look hanging in their home as a daily reminder of this beautiful day.
