Absolutely Smitten | Dan & Betsy
Congratulations to Dan and Betsy, married at Keswick Vineyards on June 14th, 2019. They could not have asked for more perfect weather, with a calm breeze blowing through the trees of this gorgeous 70 degree day in June. Dan and Betsy held their destination vineyard wedding here in Virginia while living in New York. The two of them are without a doubt both quirky in their own way and absolutely elegant. Their sophisticated style was evident in every aspect of this wedding including the beautiful calligraphy signs positioned throughout the estate grounds.
We have been working with Betsy and Dan for two years to put this wedding together and the details were stunning. The inspiration for their theme came from a beautiful watercolor painting. You could find the palette from this painting in everything from the hand-dyed silk display for their escort cards, their tablescape including the menus, down to the favors at the head of each seat.
This elegance carried over into the wedding lounge furniture that was set up both outside the tent in a beautiful setting with the shade of the trees and in the evening under the twinkling lights of the Aurora tent. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful vineyard-side ceremony with a wonderful view of the mountains, mingling around the fountain and ultimately sipping on some delicious Keswick Vineyards wine.
A huge thank you to all the amazing vendors that truly helped make this wedding so spectacular!

"Best Day Evah!" | Lacey & Garret
Congratulations to Garret and Lacey who had their wedding ceremony and reception at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, June 8th. Garret & Lacey fell in love with the grounds at Keswick Vineyards and knew they had to have their wedding here. What solidified the deal for them was being referred to Keswick Vineyards from one of our previous wedding couples that were married here back in 2012! Thanks for sharing the love!
Garret and Lacey were avid beer fans that collected labels over the years. Lacey’s Mom put her creative talents together to create their unique corn-hole set decorated with tons of beer labels! They were such avid corn-hole fans that they even had an all-white corn-hole board placed under our gazebo for everyone to sign with multicolored sharpies. Here I thought we’ve seen it all, but that was a new one! What a unique guest book to treasure for a life time.
Lacey’s mom also had many little details that she added to the wedding including custom signs made for the couple and a whole “Best Day Evah!” theme! Apparently, this was a saying from Garret’s childhood from his favorite cartoon. My favorite sign was the big chalkboard art sign placed by the dance floor to surprise the bride and groom! They also had matching napkins around the dessert table and the bar with the same theme.
Lacey & Garret LOVE Keswick Vineyards wines and wanted to make sure to showcase them at their wedding. What better way to do that then to have a wine tasting bar during cocktail hour! Staffed by Keswick Vineyards employees, guest were able to sample all the wines that were being served while being educated about them and the vineyard. Once done sampling, guest then knew which one they definitely wanted for the rest of the evening.
Another unforgettable feature to this wedding had to be the desserts. Look at how beautiful and delicious their dessert table was! Versus cupcakes, the couple had mini bundt cakes! They are so adorable and delicious. And wow, were they moist! Highly recommend!!!
So, as you can see, Lacey & Garret really had the best day evah!

A Peruvian Party! | Joshua & Vanessa
Congratulations to our Friday, June 7th wedding couple, Vanessa & Joshua. Unlike many of our couples, Vanessa & Joshua decided to do a traditional ceremony off-site at a church. They still started their day at Keswick Vineyards getting ready and taking some photos but left in the afternoon to say their “I do’s”. Since they did their ceremony off-site, they decided to have their cocktail hour in front of the estate taking full advantage of the backdrop of mountains, fountain, vineyard and of course, Edgewood Estate. As their vintage car from Albemarle Limousine pulled up to the front of the Estate, we couldn’t help but to quickly capture that moment with a photo. That white, vintage car in front of the Estate is such a classic look. LOVE IT!
As guests moved from cocktail hour to the Aurora reception tent, a wine barrel table displaying escort cards was waiting to direct them to their table. Later in the evening, this wine barrel table was used again as a bourbon, cigar bar. Way to re-purpose it!
With Vanessa’s father originally being from Peru, Joshua even proposed to Vanessa in Peru while they were visiting Machu Picchu, we knew it was just a matter of time before the Peruvian side would emerge. Towards the end of the evening they began something called la hora loca, or crazy hour, that they do for the last hour of a wedding. During this final hour guest put on masks, wear lights, have noisemakers, and really let loose! Then, what better way to close out a wedding then to have a sparkler departure!
Thank you to all the vendors who helped make this beautiful wedding come to life!

A Close-knit Bunch | Corbin & Kim
Closing out our triple wedding weekend was the marriage of Kimberly & Corbin on Sunday, June 2nd. Throughout their entire wedding I really got the feeling that this was a close family & friends’ reception. It really was apparent when their DJ, Mike Beene, did a new game for us. Previous blogs of ours have mentioned the shoe game. That is when the couple is seated back to back on the dance floor and have to answer questions that are asked of them by raising up his or her shoe for the answer. A question might be, “Who said I love you first?” Hopefully they both would raise the same shoe giving the same answer, but it is really funny when they don’t match. So, with this new game, all the guests get to participate. Mini-chalk boards are handed out. The DJ would ask a question, and everyone would write down their answer and then hold it up. It was interesting to see how well each guest knew or didn’t know the couple.
Mother Nature was being tricky this day. It appeared that a storm would be hitting right at ceremony time. So, the decision was made by their event planner to play it safe and go with the rain plan. For our rain plan, the ceremony is moved under the reception tent. As you can see by the photos, it is still beautiful! I’m sure a lot of their guests didn’t even realize that this was a rain plan versus the real ceremony location. Cocktail hour was also prepped to be held under the tent since those take a lot of time to set up. Luckily, the rain hardly fell, and the couple was able to immediately head outside to take advantage of the beautiful back drops Keswick Vineyards provides.
My favorite thing from this wedding had to be their desserts. Kimberly and Corbin decided to pass on a traditional wedding cake and instead do Duck Donuts! You could tell guests couldn’t wait to finish dinner to attack that table that was beautifully displayed with wood spindles for each flavor of donut.
As you can see, this close-knit wedding had a lot of fun together. Just look at the seriousness during the bouquet & garter toss. Guests continued doing line dances together to create ever lasting memories of this beautiful day.
